Artist House involved a comprehensive renovation of a thousand-yard property located on Main Shaheen Complex, Karachi. Originally constructed some time ago, the house underwent significant changes to fulfill the vision of the retired couple who commissioned the project. Notably, one of the retirees, a ceramist artist, expressed a clear desire for charm and character throughout the house.

The design approach adopted for Artist House had an adobe style, characterized by soft edges and corners making the atmosphere warm and inviting. To accommodate the client’s needs, a new floor was added, featuring a dedicated ceramic studio upstairs. Additionally, expansions were made to both the bathrooms and the kitchen, blending new elements seamlessly with the existing structure.

Upon entering the house, you will see a spacious main kitchen and a large open courtyard, flooding the interior with natural light. This design choice reflects the client’s passion for cooking, celebrated as a focal point in the entrance area.

Throughout the project, we made sure to incorporate the client’s cherished possessions, including paintings, ceramic pieces, and furniture collected over time. Each room, including the master bathroom, was curated with its own distinctive theme and color palette. From the serene forest theme in the master bathroom to the vibrant hues adorning other spaces, such as the blue, green, beige, and yellow bathrooms, every corner of Artist House exudes character and charm tailored to the client’s preferences.
